A New Chapter: Navigating Life After Cancer with NECS
Project type
Program Overview Video
Date
January 2026
Location
Westbrook, Maine
For many, the end of cancer treatment is the beginning of a complex transition. New England Cancer Specialists (NECS) offers a comprehensive Survivorship Program designed to bridge the gap between clinical treatment and their post-cancer life. However, the program's emotional and practical depth is difficult to convey through pamphlets alone. NECS needed a short-form video that could capture the hope, complexity, and vital support found within their survivorship community.
Strega Studios partner with Burgess Advertising and approached this project with a "patient-first" lens. We collaborated with the NECS team to identify the core pillars of the program: physical wellness, mental health support, and the power of community. The strategy was to move away from a clinical feel and toward a narrative that feels like a warm embrace, validating the survivor's experience while highlighting the expert guidance available to them.
The resulting "Survivorship Overview" is a versatile, emotionally resonant piece to be used across the NECS digital ecosystem. It serves as a welcoming hand for patients transitioning out of active treatment, providing them with a clear, hopeful vision of what life can look like with the right support system behind them.
