Following a successful opening leg in New York City, the Bach Virtuosi Festival brought their concert series to Portland, Maine for a three-night showcase. Facing challenging environments, from candlelit cathedrals to historic synagogues, the client needed documentation that felt entirely invisible to the audience.

Relying entirely on the venue's ambient light and silent electronic shutter capabilities, we designed a low-profile shooting strategy to capture the festival's full narrative across all three nights. We balanced wide environmental angles of a packed house with expressive audience interactions and macro instrument details, capturing the physical intimacy of the musicianship without breaking the audience's focus on the stars of the show: the virtuosic performers.
